You might want to review the suggestions for helping your child learn and improve their reading skills found on this government website (http://www2.ed.gov/parents/academic/help/reader/index.html). There are many free resources on the web (here’s another: http://www.succeedtoread.com/index.html) and at your local library. The librarians will be happy to help you find just what you need. Check the Sedona Public Library website (sedonalibrary.org) for hours at the West Sedona location and the Village of Oak Creek location. Or call the main library at 282-7714 or the Village center at 284-1603. Both locations have wonderful children’s books available for check out.

Tutoring Dates for 2018-2019 School Year
Due to multiple changes in the Sedona-Oak Creek school district, the start date for tutoring at West Sedona has not yet been set, hopefully by mid-October. We plan to keep it on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:45. Contact us for further information.
Due to the move of so many Big Park students to Oak Creek School in Cornville, we are working on beginning a program there on Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 beginning October 17th.
We are also considering beginning a program at Beaver Creek School in Rimrock. Details for that one are still being worked out.
Please consider a donation to this true grass-roots organization. Send checks to SEDONA LITERACY CENTER at the contact information above. If you need a receipt for IRS, make the check to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church at the same address and put "Sedona Literacy Center" in the memo line.
